Development of the Vakhrushevskoye Brown Coal Deposit
About the project
The deposit is located on the eastern coast of the central part of Sakhalin Island, in close proximity to Terpeniya Bay, which creates favorable conditions for organizing logistics flows and transporting resources. The distance to the coastline is 8 km.
Description of Subsoil Areas and Their Potential:
The reserves of the deposit are divided into areas intended for development using both open-pit and underground mining methods. The total proven reserves under categories (A+B+C1) represent a significant resource potential for long-term extraction.Subsoil Areas for Open-Pit Mining:
The Severny and Lermontovsky-2 open-pit areas have explored reserves totaling 18.7 million tons. These areas are ideally suited for open-pit mining, which ensures reduced operational costs and a quick return on investment during the initial stages of deposit development.Subsoil Areas for Underground Mining:
Vakhrushevsky-Central: Explored reserves amount to 49 million tons. This area is strategically well-located and has the potential for significant expansion of underground mining infrastructure. Vakhrushevsky South: Contains 14.6 million tons of mineral resources. This compact area boasts high-quality reserves and is suitable for gradual utilization as part of the overall deposit development strategy.
